Chad Zimmerman
AgriFood Business Development Sr. Director
Chad is the AgriFood Business Development Sr. Director at BioSTL. This role is tasked with discovering the innovation needs of farmers and stakeholders along the agrifood value chain. And then tapping into the vast global innovation ecosystem to bring appropriate solutions to commercialization. Prior to this role with BioSTL, Chad had a career spanning more than 20 years with Monsanto & Bayer Crop Science. His experience included manufacturing, logistics, planning, complex negotiations, and product management for both seeds and crop protection products.
Chad grew up on a family row crop farm in Nebraska. Through this lens of family farm life, he gained an appreciation for the acute challenges affecting large areas of rural America and the immense opportunities for continual development of Midwestern agriculture.
He has also enjoyed working with several nonprofit organizations for many years. His work has centered on agricultural safety, keeping families intact, and empowering rural villages in developing countries through educational opportunities.
Rural Missouri is home to Chad, his wife Rachel, and their children. He enjoys spending time with family, traveling throughout Latin America, and enjoying a good meal with friends.
